The course focuses on restorative and periodontal diagnostic techniques and methodologies. We will also cover analog and digital impression recording for treatment planning. Learners will discuss the interpretation of radiographs to determine tissue conditions, overall objective of periodontal therapy, and key factors to achieve successful periodontal therapy. In addition, learners will have the opportunity to study and interpret digital design software tools for restorative material selection for final dental treatment planning.

Upon completion of this course, learners will be able to:
Describe the principles of digital dental photography for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
Summarize the application of analog impression techniques for different and/or challenging clinical scenarios
Apply the techniques of digital impressions (DI) to utilize the benefits of the technology
Describe principles related to tissue conditioning & maintenance of periodontal health
Interpret radiographs thoroughly
Identify and select recommended indirect restorative materials based on scan results
Identify techniques related to dental treatment planning, such as the selection and manufacture of milled vs. printed digital dentures
