Implant dentistry has become a routine treatment with high implant survival rates. The integration of cone beam computed tomography (CBCT), digital intraoral scanning, and virtual treatment planning has increased the accuracy and predictability of implant therapy. Implants, together with computer-aided design/computeraided manufacturing (CAD/CAM), represent a digital workflow that streamlines treatment and allows for reliable and precise prosthetically driven guided implantology.

Learning objectives:

The overall goal of this course is to provide information on implant treatment.

Review survival and success rates following implant therapy
Describe the role of technology in diagnosis and treatment planning
List and describe steps in the digital workflow
Review the importance of implant stability, methods to measure, and implications for treatment.
