The DPU was established as the first and only completely private university in 2009, following the idea of reinventing undergraduate dental studies and providing a dental excellence standard. Out of many other offers, the founder of DPU, Marga B. Wagner-Pischel and her husband Jürgen Pischel, chose Dentsply Sirona to be their partner for this project.
For the founders, all contributors as well as the Dentsply Sirona team it was of highest importance to unite the modernity of the equipment with the history and tradition of the stately building, right in the scenery of the world culture heritage in Krems. A high esthetic standard and the elegance were of the same significance as the technology.
Since its foundation, the DPU is equipped with 48 simulation units and more than 50 treatment centers (Sinius and Teneo), as well as imaging and CAD/CAM units including prepCheck. Those support students on their way to becoming excellent dentists and providing outstanding care for their patients.
