DS Core - A new era of dentist-lab collaboration

 

The Connect Case Center has been introduced in 2010 and served dentists and labs well, for transferring intra-oral scans and initiate lab orders. 

With DS Core, we have introduced a new cloud-based platform and technology with enhanced collaboration capabilities. Connected with our DS X-ray software, Sidexis® 4, you can have the entire patient X-ray history along with your IO scans in one place.

Key Milestones in the Connect Case Center Shutdown

April 4, 2025 – New Sign-ups Blocked

Starting this date, new registrations for Connect Case Center will no longer be possible. Existing users can continue accessing the platform until the next milestone.

 

November 15, 2025 – Dentist Access Blocked (Shutdown)

On this date, dentists will no longer be able to access Connect Case Center. To continue seamless case-sharing and collaboration, ensure your transition to DS Core is complete before this deadline.

 

March 2026 – Lab Access Blocked (Shutdown)

Lab access to Connect Case Center Inbox will be disabled, completing the full shutdown.

Sign-up to DS Core and connect your equipment.

  • Register as either practice or lab on dscore.com.
  • Select preferred subscription – both lab & dentist can use DS Core ordering features at no cost.
  • Download DI & CAD/CAM connector to connect supported equipment.

  • Dental offices have to search and add their preferred lab before sending an order.
  • Labs can invite all their customers to register to DS Core and to add them as their preferred lab.

Streamline Your Workflow with DS Core

DS Core Workflow for the Dental Practice

Step 1

Set up scan case

Select a patient, create, and define a Treatment. Click on DI Scan and select the scanner you want to use6.

 

6. Available with scanners using Connect SW 2.8 and higher.

Step 2

Scan patient

Connect SW automatically opens in the acquisition phase.

Perform patient scans according to the required scan catalogues for the treatment.

Once the model is calculated, the scan is automatically uploaded to DS Core.

Step 3

Check model and margin

DS Core automatically pre-draws the preparation margins and sets the model axis for your convenience.

Confirm these settings or adjust them if necessary. Once finalized, close the editor.

Step 4

Send order to lab

Click on Order. The details will be filled in accordingly to the Treatment you've created.

Add further files and comments if needed. Lastly, select you Lab of preference and place the order.

You can now see the status of your order from the dashboard and use the chat to communicate with your lab.

DS Core Workflow for the Dental Labs

Step 1

Receive case

Receive case and inspect 3D model including supporting materials such as x-rays directly in DS Core. Accept order and directly open in connected design software or download open files7. Use DS Core order sheet print-out for quick access to order via QR code.

7. Dental Labs connecting 3Shape Dental System can open order directly in the 3Shape software.

Step 2

Design case

Design the case specific indication with the usual design software such as inLab, 3Shape, Exocad or others.

Step 3

Collaborate (optional)
Communicate with your dentist to get feedback and approval directly via DS Core by drag-and-dropping files via integrated chat.

Step 4

Fulfill case order

Finalize order and send physical appliances via mail together with MDR documentation. Additionally, send design files and further documents to your dentist.
