To support the work of the Hardwick foundation, a non-profit organisation providing dental care to underserved communities in the Masai region in Kenya, Dentsply Sirona donated state-of-the-art CEREC equipment, including a CEREC Primescan, CEREC Primemill and CEREC SpeedFire as well as CAD/CAM materials. The impact of a clinic in March 2023 is a testament to the importance of the work being done by the foundation. Over the course of three eight-hour days and one five-hour day, a team of 14 people, including three dentists, four dental hygienists, and three dental assistants, provided care to a staggering 314 patients. The team conducted 290 exams, took 244 X-rays, filled 85 cavities, extracted 197 teeth and performed four CEREC crowns. In addition, the team provided 126 dental hygiene cleanings and applied silver diamine fluoride to arrest active cavities.

In March 2023, Dentsply Sirona collaborated with America’s ToothFairy on “Bid for Smiles” to raise $26,000 to support prevention resources and services for 5,000 children who otherwise might not receive the dental services they need to be healthy. America’s ToothFairy helps improve the lives of these children by providing essential resources that help nonprofit dental organisations serve more kids each year.

Dentsply Sirona partnered with TeamSmile to organise a free dental clinic for underprivileged children from local Boys and Girls Clubs and other organisations in Charlotte, North Carolina in July 2024. Children attending the clinic received a range of free dental services, including x-rays, cleaning, fillings, sealants and extractions, with a total estimated value of almost US$26,000. In addition to receiving dental care and free oral health education, the young patients had the opportunity to meet Homer the Dragon, the Official Mascot of the Charlotte Knights baseball team, along with other TeamSmile mascots. The event also featured face painting to create a fun and memorable dental treatment experience for the children.

In 2024, Dentsply Sirona donated $30,000 to Dental Lifeline Network, in support of their Lifeline Heroes Challenge. This donation is part of a partnership which started 25 years ago in 1999. Dental Lifeline Network is dedicated to matching elderly, disabled, and medically fragile veterans in the US with volunteer dentists, enabling them to receive vital dental treatment at no cost.

The Lifeline Heroes Challenge aims to connect volunteers and coordinate care for 1,000 veterans each year. Between 2022-2023 over 980 dentists volunteered to provide free treatment for more than 940 veterans and the value of the care provided to veterans was $3.7 million. Since 1974, Dental Lifeline Network has enabled more than $540 million in donated dental care for 170,000 people through a nationwide community of 16,000 volunteer dentists, specialists, and labs. Since the beginning of its veteran’s initiative in 2018, the organisation has helped more than 5,200 veterans access the extensive dental care they needed.

In July 2024, Dentsply Sirona raised more than £15,000 for Dentaid The Dental Charity with its third annual Miles for Smiles charity walk. Dentsply Sirona had invited dental professionals, employees, partners, friends and family members in the UK to participate in a 13-mile walk (20.92 km). More than 100 participants took part in this year’s fundraiser event.

Over the last three years, Miles for Smiles raised a total of more than £52,500. The Miles for Smiles charity walk embodies the shared values of Dentsply Sirona and Dentaid The Dental Charity to give back healthy smiles to those in need. All funds raised via participant registrations and voluntary donations will be used by Dentaid The Dental Charity to help children and adults with limited access to dental care to maintain their oral health.
