Starting & Managing Treatment

Excellent clinical outcomes rely on the clinician’s attention to detail at each patient appointment. Doctors in this course will gain a strong command of the clinical aspects of patient management by learning how to set patient expectations throughout treatment, how to address instances when aligners are not tracking during treatment, and how to determine which retention option best meets their needs at the completion of treatment.   

The emphasis in this course is to help clinicians learn how to identify and address tracking issues with solid strategies to not only solve existing problems but potentially prevent them from occurring in the future with similar cases.                           

 Learning Objectives:

• Determine if the amount of interproximal reduction (IPR) performed is consistent with the amount recommended 
• Provide patient instructions for lost aligners 
• Describe how to address common aligner tracking issues  
• Identify what type(s) of retainers or retention philosophy is best suited for each of their patients when completing aligner treatment
