Future-oriented, digital and more sustainable: Dentsply Sirona World in Dubai 2024

Following last year’s successful premiere, Dentsply Sirona World celebrated another edition in Dubai on February 4-5, 2024. Almost 1200 registered attendees from 50 countries experienced an exceptional educational program featuring international speakers at the Dubai Exhibition Centre (DEC). And something special: This location lives sustainability through a set of energy generation, waste, and resource management actions. This choice in location aligned with Dentsply Sirona’s actions and commitment to its sustainability strategy "BEYOND: Taking Action for a Brighter World", dedicated to fostering a healthy planet, healthy smiles and healthy business.
Charlotte. For the second time, Dentsply Sirona welcomed international guests to Dentsply Sirona World in Dubai, iconic city in the United Arab Emirates and an important hub in the Middle East for modern, digital dentistry. The location of the event was the Dubai Exhibition Center in Expo City Dubai, which, as a "mini city within a city", was the venue for the "EXPO 2020" world exposition. The venue achieved ISO 20121:2012 Event Sustainability Management System certification and its decarbonization roadmap and net zero goal by 2050, which helps support Dentsply Sirona in going BEYOND by organizing more sustainable events.
For example, the entire exhibition center is equipped with photovoltaic systems, the landscape plants come almost entirely from native and adaptable species, and biological insect protection is used almost exclusively to preserve them. The wood used on site comes from sustainable forestry. In addition, many organizational details on site ensured greater sustainability: no plastic was used for catering and glass bottles were sent to a recycling program. Individually packaged foods such as sugar and milk were replaced by refillable jars and bottles.
Atmospheric Setting and the experience of Dentsply Sirona’s innovative product portfolio

"We provided a wonderful opportunity for participants to meet in an atmospheric setting, learn from each other and also get to know Dentsply Sirona's latest innovations live and in person." The two-day event culminated in a gala dinner at EXPO City which was an enchanting experience for all guests.
At Dentsply Sirona World Dubai, X-Smart Pro+, the endo motor with apex locator, made its market premiere in the Middle East. The powerful X-Smart Pro+ portable tabletop motor unit has been developed to optimize the performance of Dentsply Sirona and VDW endodontic filing systems. It is the first motor to be offered by both Dentsply Sirona and VDW. By combining the endodontic expertise of both brands, synergies and additional opportunities are created for users to advance their endodontic performance with confidence.
Dentists such as Professor Simone Grandini from Italy, have already had the opportunity to put it through its paces: "I’m thrilled with the motor, it tops its predecessors with its simplicity, precision in handling and safety," explained the endodontic expert and Dentsply Sirona key opinion leader.
Dentsply Sirona also presented the latest updates for the Primeprint Solution 3D printing system and Primescan Connect intraoral scanner. The focus was on demonstrating the product portfolio in their corresponding treatment workflows: from diagnosis to planning and its implementation in the fields of implant dentistry (including implants from the Dentsply Sirona EV family) and orthodontics with SureSmile, the modern concept for Clear Aligner therapy. An inviting gathering space provided plenty of opportunities to converse with product experts and discuss trending topics.
Multi-faceted program with presentations, workshops and hands-on training
A first-class setup of courses on almost all dental disciplines was developed for the participants, such as the optimization of the digital implantology workflow by Prof. Stefan Vandeweghe (Belgium) and the aesthetic individualization of restorations—a workshop given by dental technician Eric Berger (France) once in English and once in French. Prof. Simone Grandini (Italy) focused on the question of the limits of new techniques and materials for direct anterior restorations, and Dr. Angelica Iglesias (Spain) discussed modern diagnostic tools for complex cases with orthodontic implications.
For Dr. Iglesias, this Dentsply Sirona World in Dubai was a real highlight as a speaker: "I was inspired by the international audience: it is amazing how the technology allows us to connect and share patient experiences and treat our patients with similar protocols around the world and keep learning from each other. Helping everyone to advance our own professional skills with confidence and set up our practices more efficiently. I am very much looking forward to attending other Dentsply Sirona World Events around the globe and to continuing my digital journey in dentistry."
