The form, direction and axis of eruption of the teeth, or their absence determines the shape and volume of the alveolar process, thus the best period to preserve the alveolar ridge is at the time of extraction. Socket preservation has been proposed as a means of counteracting post-extraction volume loss due to alveolar ridge resorption. In this webinar Dr. Silva will share his clinical experience, and discuss the rationale behind implant site preservation, materials, techniques and decision making when planning extraction sites for future implant restorations.

Learning Objectives:

At the completion of this lecture, viewers will have a working knowledge of:

  • Alveolar ridge resorption
  • Minimally invasive extraction techniques
  • Handling various clinical scenarios
