This course demonstrates various injection techniques for maxillary anesthesia including infraorbital nerve block, posterior superior alveolar nerve block, anterior superior alveolar nerve block, greater palatine nerve block, nasopalatine nerve block and maxillary (second division) nerve block with high tuberosity approach and pterygopalatine approach.

Learning objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, the learner will be able to:

  • Describe and discuss the indications, relevant anatomy, and technique features for maxillary injections.
  • Describe the basic technique for safe and effective administration of the: Infraorbital nerve block
  • Anterior superior alveolar nerve block
  • Middle superior alveolar nerve block Posterior superior alveolar nerve block
  • Maxillary nerve block (second division or V2 block)
  • Nasopalatine nerve block
  • Greater palatine nerve block
