AGD PACE Subject Code: 370 - Orthodontics

Generally, doctors use aligners to treat a broad range of case types. More difficult cases like correcting Class II and Class III malocclusions, however, may require a deeper understanding of orthodontic diagnosis and prior treatment experience to address these kinds of conditions with other types of appliances.

This course assumes doctors already have an advanced level of aligner and orthodontic treatment experience and is designed to help them learn more about how to apply this expertise to aligner therapy treatment options. In this course, clinicians will be guided by an industry expert through a series of complex case types to learn best practices in treatment planning these types of cases. Doctors will learn how to combine aligners with the appropriate auxiliaries as an effective means of addressing complex orthodontic issues.

 Learning Objectives:

Identify several types of auxiliaries and adjuncts doctors often use in combination with aligners to facilitate efficiencies in tooth movement

Evaluate the types of movement needed to address anterior-posterior (AP) changes for Class II and Class III cases

Determine the appropriate time to place elastics and buttons during aligner treatment
