The Freedom Scholarship, a collaboration with the Foundation for Endodontics, provides substantial financial assistance to endodontic residents, addressing the significant student loan debt faced by dental specialists.
Charlotte. Dentsply Sirona and the Foundation for Endodontics are proud to announce the three winners of The Freedom Scholarship that supports the next generation of endodontic specialists.
This year’s winners were announced at AAE’s Advanced Programs in Clinical Endodontics Symposium (APICES) in Austin, Texas. They are:
· Dr. Chloe Beninati, Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine
· Dr. Andrew Sullivan, Indiana University School of Dentistry
· Dr. Brittney Brown, University of Southern California Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry
Dentsply Sirona has committed to investing $750,000 over the next five years ($150,000 annually) to support the scholarship. The Foundation of Endodontics manages the application and selection process. Three students who have performed well in dental school and endodontic residency programs are each awarded a one-time $50,000 scholarship.

By providing substantial financial support, we aim to empower talented endodontic residents to pursue their passion without the overwhelming burden of student debt."
Key Features of the Foundation for Endodontics and Dentsply Sirona Freedom Scholarship:
· Five-Year Commitment: Dentsply Sirona has pledged a five-year commitment, contributing annually to the Foundation for Endodontics, which will manage the scholarship recipient selection process and fund distribution.
· Annual Awards: Each year, three meritorious endodontic residents will receive a one-time $50,000 scholarship to assist them with the cost of tuition, courses, equipment, books and other training-related expenses.
· Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must be post-graduate residents of CODA-accredited endodontic programs in the United States or Canada. They must also be citizens or permanent residents of these countries, with a GPA of 3.1 or higher in dental school and endodontic residency.
· Application Process: The application process includes an online form, a personal statement, two letters of recommendation, official transcripts, and documentation of tuition and fees.

Applications for the 2025 scholarship opened Nov. 1, 2024. The Foundation for Endodontics encourages eligible candidates to apply and looks forward to the positive impact this scholarship program will have on the lives and careers of endodontic residents.
