In this course you will learn what sustainability means for the dental industry – environmentally, socially, and from a governance perspective. Prof. Dr. Rainer Seemann and Dr. Steven Mulligan will share key terms, challenges, and opportunities, and explain why we must all act now to make dentistry more sustainable.
Course Objectives
- Recognize the urgent need for more sustainable environmental and social practices in dentistry.
- Discuss concerns about sustainable dental practices with your patients.
- Reflect on key sustainability challenges and opportunities, including the importance of reducing your climate footprint and addressing social challenges.
- Recognize important sustainability policies and initiatives for dentistry, such as the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the FDI’s Pledge for Sustainable Dentistry.
- Motivate yourself and others make changes in your own dental practice to help you and your colleagues work more sustainably.
