Today’s dental implant clinician must possess both clinical expertise in implant dentistry and a mastery in patient management skills to create successful treatment outcomes. These skills become especially important in the treatment of the esthetically discriminating patient. This requires a better understanding of the psychology associated with esthetic dental treatment and an ability to clearly recognize the presenting clinical condition and the patient’s expectations. Through patient treatment illustrations, this presentation will highlight the best approaches to meet the patient's clinical and psychological needs simplifying the complexities associated with esthetic dental implant treatment.
At the completion of this lecture, participants will be able to:
- Understand the psychology of the esthetically motivated patient
- Better recognize the request, the defect, and the expectations of the dental implant patient
- Outline the important benefits of well-coordinated interdisciplinary treatment through patient stories
- Demonstrate utilization of prosthodontic designs and materials for best esthetic treatment outcomes
