Implant Course Series

These procedural-focused courses will guide you on how to place and restore a single-tooth implant in the posterior and anterior zones. Upon completion, you are encouraged to continue your education to the Mastery courses, Levels 7-8, which focus on regenerative solutions and surgical and restorative complications.

Utilizing procedure-based education¹, this level illustrates the basic surgical and prosthetic concepts of implant therapy through a presentation of two single-tooth posterior implant cases.

Throughout this level, the courses cover topics including:

• Concepts for determining implant position in treatment planning
• Implant design features and their impact on outcomes
• Introduction to the Astra Tech Implant System EV
• Primary stability vs. insertion torque
• Custom healing abutments
• Overview of guided surgery 

Upon completing this level, participants will understand how to place and restore a single-tooth implant in the posterior zone. Participants are encouraged to continue their education in Level 3, which focuses on the single-tooth implant in the anterior zone.

At the completion of this level, participants will understand how to place and restore a single-tooth implant in the anterior zone. Participants are encouraged to continue their education in Level 4, which will focus on multi-unit cases.

Throughout this level, the courses cover topics including: Concepts for determining implant position in treatment planning, Key aspects of surgical guide design, Impression taking techniques, Provisional restoration design, CAD/CAM abutment options and designs, At the completion of this level, participants will understand multi-unit fixed partial denture cases. Participants are encouraged to continue their education in Level 5, which will focus on full-arch removable implant overdentures.

Transitioning to the edentulous patient, this procedure-based module will provide clinicians with the knowledge and skills necessary for providing full-arch removable implant restorations. Utilizing procedure-based education¹, this level transitions to the fully edentulous patient and will provide clinicians with the knowledge and skills necessary to provide full-arch removable implant restorations.

Throughout this level, the courses cover topics including: Patient-centric approaches to full-arch implant therapy, Diagnosis and treatment planning for removable implant overdentures, Overdenture treatment approaches for the mandible and maxilla, Optimization of esthetics, retention, support, and comfort and Step-by-step restorative procedures.

At the completion of this level, participants will have a good understanding of treating an edentulous arch with a removable implant overdenture. Participants are encouraged to continue their education in Level 6, which will focus on full-arch fixed implant restorations.

Throughout this level, the courses cover topics including: Space-related constraints and considerations for different types of full-arch prostheses, Principles of density, dimension, distribution, and display to organize implant placement, number, and location, The “Rules of 10” for a successful implant-supported or implant-retained mandibular prosthesis, Loading protocols for the full-arch based on initial primary stability, Immediate placement and provisionalization of a full-arch maxilla from a digital and analog perspective.

At the completion of this level, participants will have a better understanding of treating an edentulous arch with a full-arch fixed implant restoration. Participants are encouraged to continue their education in Level 7, which focuses on regeneration, including advanced grafting principles and techniques.
