CEREC users are in control of the whole process, from scanning to the completed restoration. This leads to clinically reliable results with no surprises and no extensive reworking. The seamless transition of all treatment steps within one system offers optimal results in a single visit.
The CEREC workflow is always the same and dentists quickly become familiar with it. The CEREC system hardware and software are perfectly harmonized with each other and save the user many work steps. The restoration proposal generated by the CEREC software is often so good that it can be directly forwarded to the next process step, the fabrication. The sintering and glazing furnace CEREC SpeedFire also receives the necessary information directly from the software and does not have to be programmed manually. These are only two examples that nevertheless reveal the intelligence behind the system. The simple operation of CEREC allows individual work steps to be delegated to trained assistants.
More than 250 studies confirm the quality of CEREC restorations. 35 million CEREC restorations have now been successfully placed. Today CEREC, with more than 38,000 systems installed, is considered the best chairside CAD/CAM system in the world.
There are also significant studies on the longevity of CEREC restorations. These studies show that CEREC inlays are on a par with classic gold restorations in terms of long-term performance. The long-term performance of ceramic veneers with CEREC did not differ from laboratory-made restorations in another scientific study. The durability of CEREC restorations is also significantly affected by the material. The use of the particularly hard and therefore stable material CEREC Zirconia, which is now also possible chairside, will increase the longevity of CEREC restorations.
Exact data obtained during the optical impression in particular and precise fabrication using industrially produced ceramics ensures the highest degree of precision. Furthermore, the material CEREC Zirconia further increases precision. This is because CEREC Zirconia is milled oversized and then densely sintered in the CEREC SpeedFire to its final size.
