CEREC Milling and Grinding Units

For best results

The CEREC milling and grinding units and the CEREC software are optimally synchronized with one another. Grinding and milling the restoration design is extremely precise, giving the restorations smooth surfaces. Even very fine fissures are very precisely prepared and the edges are very even. Our new milling and grinding units can also dry mill, making solid zirconia restorations in a single visit possible!

Benefits

Fast and precise fabrication of various materials

Possibility to produce patient-individual surgical guides and abutments/screw-retained crowns

3

CEREC grinding and milling units for a wide range of indications.

4 - 12 min

is how long it typically takes to grind/mill a single dental restoration, depending on the indication and material.

25 µm

the precision provided by the CEREC milling units.

Treatment often used to take a long time. With CEREC I got a complete crown in just one visit – without a temporary or follow-up visits. I call that service!

Meike Tramitz, patient from Gießen

Our NEW milling and grinding units can also dry mill, making full contour zirconia restorations possible in a single visit!

Outstanding restorations now also with full contour zirconia

The new CEREC grinding and milling machines come equipped with a device to vacuum up the mill shavings as well as new precision tools. The new machine can be used for both wet and dry processing, one straight after the other. Dry milling saves a considerable amount of time, as the restoration does not need to be dried before sintering – thus enabling the chairside procedure. And there is no difference in quality between dry and wet milling processes. The dry dust can easily be removed using a short, integrated cleaning program.

The three CEREC milling and grinding units in comparison

Three different milling and grinding units are tailored to address specific individual requirements. All three CEREC milling and grinding units mill and/or grind precise restorations in a few minutes with a precision of 25 μm.

Frequently asked questions about milling and grinding with CEREC

With the CEREC system, you bring laboratory services directly to your practice, however, this does not replace the dental laboratory. The CEREC milling and grinding unit can be an ideal addition to your dental laboratory as you can manufacture your restorations with the CEREC system in just a single visit.

The practice laboratory allows you to use CEREC even more intensively and cover a wider range of indications such as manufacturing bridge structures that are veneered and producing telescopes, bars and attachments. All CAD/CAM materials, including NPM, can also be used.

The CEREC milling and grinding units have been further developed for CEREC Zirconia. The production units now also have a dry milling function for producing solid zirconium oxide restorations. Special instruments and a suction device are required for milling full contour zirconia. Newer milling and grinding units can be upgraded. Chairside full contour zirconia restorations can also be produced with wet milling. However, the process is then longer due to “drying” process.

The final restoration in just a few steps

Step 1: Scan
Spare your patients the discomfort of a conventional impression tray. Use CEREC Primescan or CEREC Omnicam for precise 3D images in natural color.
Step 2: Design
After analyzing the complete scan, the CEREC software generates outstanding restoration proposals. This takes you to the production stage faster. You benefit from the simple and visually appealing user interface.
Step 3: Produce
The CEREC grinding and milling unit and CEREC software are optimally matched. Milling/grinding the (full zirconia) restoration design is extremely precise, giving the restorations smooth surfaces, edges and very fine fissures.
Step 4: Sinter and glaze
Full-contour zirconia restorations are sintered and glazed chairside in the compact CEREC SpeedFire. The induction technology allows for unparalleled short sintering and firing times.
