Always thinking ahead. Always improving.
Matthias Rein, group leader for the development of rotating instruments at Dentsply Sirona, defines a pioneering spirit as follows: "We search relentlessly for new ways to enhance the value of our products to customers. This requires know-how and experience, a degree of passion for innovation and, of course, a desire to work together."
His interdisciplinary team comprising engineers from the fields of machine engineering, precision engineering and electromechanics, develops and tests prototypes, i.e., experimental models of a planned product. The term "development" here comprises gathering the wishes of the customer and the creation of initial concepts to monitoring the series production of the finished dental products while ensuring satisfaction of the utmost quality standards.
The team puts its developments through stringent testing. Automated tests safeguard and optimize the design, in-vitro tests and in-vivo investigations in cooperation with dentists show the actual benefit to customers and, finally, trained staff use the instruments like dentists do and spend many months in the preparation of tooth-like material.
This pioneering spirit, combined with excellent work and precision, is his team's recipe for success. Matthias Rein can proudly state: "Over the past few years we have made major improvements to products, such as turbines, which have been regarded as 'fully developed' for decades – this is all thanks to our inventions which are unique and offer dentists significant added value."
